Can you identifiy my coin or bank note?

Yes. We have on-site professionals ready to help identify your coins and paper notes. Please contact us for more information.

What is grading?

Coin grading is the process of determining the grade or condition of a coin. Several factors are analyzed to determine a coin’s grade. Some of the factors include lustre, relief, wear, handling marks, scratches and blemishes. The grade is essentially a ‘shorthand’ for describing a coins condition and value. The same principles apply for paper money grading, where the paper on which the note is printed is evaluated for quality and condition.

What is numismatics?

Numismatics is the study or collection of coins, tokens, and paper money and sometimes related objects (including historical medals).

How do I add my name to the Canadian Coin & Currency mailing list?

How do I unsubscribe from the mailing list?

To unsubscribe from our mailing list, you can log into your account on CDNCOIN.com, click on “Change my email preferences”, and then follow the instructions to remove your email address from our database.

How do I create an account?

  1. Click the “My Account” link at the top left side of our site.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Select “I am a new customer”.

Then simply follow the prompts to complete setting up your account. Your information is NEVER sold to any other company and is kept completely private. Please view our Privacy Policy for more information.

How do I edit my account information?

Click the “My Account” link at the top left hand side of our site to edit your account information.

How much is my shipping?

Shipping is automatically calculated prior to submitting your payment information. Simply add items to your cart and proceed to the Checkout page where you will be offered Shipping Method choices and their prices.

I forgot my password.

Click the “My Account” link at the top left hand side of our site. Under the login box you’ll see a link that says “Forgot your password? Click here”. That link will send an email to you with your password.

How do I return my product?

If you feel that you have received the wrong product, please contact customer service within 72 hours of receiving the product.

When will my order ship?

Please see each individual item page for more information on the availability of each item. Also, after placing your order, you may click the “My Account” link at the top left hand side of our site to track the status of your order. You will receive a shipment confirmation when your order has shipped and tracking information within 24-48 hours of shipment.

What’s the best way to find what I’m looking for on CDNCOIN.com?

There are three main ways to find products online at Canadian Coin and Currency. The first is to browse by Product Category, the second is to narrow the results by using the Product Filters, and third is to use the Product Search. They can be used alone or in combination to quickly pinpoint products from the online inventory. These three methods allow you to search by catalogue numbers, denomination, date, country, year, grade or grading service. What currencies can I use to make a purchase on CDNCOIN.com?

Currently you make purchases in both Canadian dollars and US dollars.

How do I use a coupon or promo code?

After adding items to your cart, click the “View Cart” link at the top of this site to view your cart. At the bottom of the shopping cart you’ll see a box where you may enter your coupon or promo code.

Do you ship to my country?

Please create an account by clicking the “My Account” link at the top left hand side of our site. During signup we’ll ask for your shipping address details including country. If your country is not in the dropdown menu of available countries, unfortunately we cannot ship to your country at this time.

What are my payment choices?

During the checkout process you may choose any of our current payment options and continue to place your order. Please note that we will not ship your order until we receive payment from you.

When will my order ship and what are my shipping charges?

Has my order shipped?

How do I change quantities or cancel an item in my order?

Click the “My Account” link at the top left hand side of our site to view orders you have placed. Then click the “Change quantities / cancel orders” link to find and edit your order. Please note that once an order has begun processing or has shipped, the order is no longer editable.

How do I track my order?

Click the “My Account” link at the top left hand side of our site to track your order.

My order never arrived.

Click the “My Account” link at the top left hand side of our site to track your order status. Be sure that all of the items in your order have shipped already. If you order displays your Package Tracking Numbers, check with the shipper to confirm that your packages were delivered. If your packages each show a status of “delivered”, please contact customer service for assistance.

An item is missing from my shipment.

When will my backorder arrive?

Backordered items are those which our suppliers are unable to predict when they will have more in stock, but as soon as they do, we will be able to ship the item to you.

Do I have to pay sales tax?

You only have to pay sales tax if you are located in the same state as our warehouse.

I have a question on my charges.

Click the “My Account / Order Status” link at the top right hand side of our site to review your orders. You may compare your order history on our website, with your financial records. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact customer service for further assistance.

I need a copy of my receipt/invoice.

When will my credit appear on my account?

Credits usually take 7-10 business days from the time we receive your item(s).

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged within 24 hours prior to shipment of your item(s).

Are points transferable between Collector Credits Rewards members?

No, credits can only be redeemed by the individual account holder.

Can anyone get a Collector Credits Rewards membership?

Yes, the Collector Credits Rewards program is available to all visitors at www.cdncoin.com and our retail location at 10355 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Can I earn Collector Credits Rewards for my in-store purchases at Canadian Coin & Currency?

Yes. The Collector Credits Rewards program is available for both online and in store purchases.

Can I redeem my Collector Credits Rewards for cash?

No. Collector Credits Rewards can only be redeemed as gift certificates which are applied to orders at cdncoin.com and future in store purchases.

Can I redeem my Collector Credits Rewards in-store at Canadian Coin & Currency’s showroom?

Yes. Collector Credits Rewards can be redeemed in store.

Can I redeem my Collector Credits Rewards with Canadian Coin’s affiliated companies, Canadian PMX or Canadian Estate Jewellers?

No. Collector Credits Rewards can only be redeemed with Canadian Coin & Currency.

Do all products and purchases from cdncoin.com qualify for Collector Credits Rewards?

Virtually every product at cdncoin.com has a Collector Credits value, although from time to time some products may be exempt from the program.

Most purchases will earn you Collector Credits, but one important exception is that no Collector Credits can be earned on a purchase in which Collector Credits are also being redeemed, regardless if the amount of the purchase exceeds the value of the credits.

Does it cost anything to become a member?

No. Membership in the Collector Credits Rewards program is completely free.

How can I earn Collector Credits Rewards faster?

From time to time Canadian Coin may offer special bonus credit products or events, so be sure to take advantage of them when they occur!

How can I join?

Your Collector Credits Rewards account is created automatically when you register on cdncoin.com. When shopping in store, speak with an associate to create a Collector Credits account.

How do I cancel my membership?

If you should wish to cancel your account simply email us at [email protected] with the subject line ‘Cancel Collector Credits Rewards’ and we will deactivate your account.

How do I earn Collector Credits Rewards?

Shop online or in store at Canadian Coin & Currency and your purchases will earn you Collector Credits Rewards! The details page for each product shows you how many Collector Credits you will earn by purchasing that product. Your Collector Credits will be added to your account when your order is shipped or picked up in store.

How do I keep track of my Collector Credits Rewards?

A summary of your available and pending credits can be found in the ‘My Account’ section on cdncoin.com at the ‘Collector Credits Rewards’ link. At this time Collector Credits Rewards are not summarized in the checkout at the time of purchase. When shopping in store, your account balance will display on the bottom of your purchase receipt.

How do I redeem my Collector Credits Rewards?

If shopping online, simply navigate to the Collector Credits Rewards section at cdncoin.com to enter the number of Collector Credits you wish to redeem. You must redeem at least 500 Collector Credits at a time, but there is no maximum. Click ‘redeem now’ and your Collector Credits will be converted to a gift certificate that will automatically be applied to your next online purchase. You can check your gift certificate balance from the ‘My Account’ page.

If shopping in store, your sales associate will be able to advise you as to how many points you are able to redeem on your purchase.

How soon can I redeem my Collector Credits Rewards?

Collector Credits may be redeemed the next business day after they are credited to your account. Allow 2-3 business days for your points to be updated between in store and online.

I made a purchase but I don’t see my Collector Credits in my account.

New Collector Credits rewards are not added into your account until your order has been shipped or picked up in store. If your order has been shipped and your Collector Credits are still not showing in your account, please contact us at [email protected] and we will investigate.

I redeemed my Credits online but I don’t know what my Gift Certificate balance is.

You can easily check on your gift certificate balance by clicking ‘My Account’ and selecting ‘View Gift Certificate Balance’.

Is there a membership card for Collector Credits Rewards?

Yes. Your Collector Credits Rewards account is managed automatically as part of your account at cdncoin.com. Membership cards will only be presented to in store customers.

What happens to my points when I return an item?

Any credits that you originally earned on the purchase of that item will be deducted from your current Collector Credits balance.

What if there is an error in my points balance?

If you believe that there is an error in your Collector Credits balance, contact us at [email protected] and we will check into it and correct the problem if necessary

The Collector Credits Rewards program is exclusive to Canadian Coin & Currency. Credits can only be earned or redeemed online or in store.

Why aren’t my Collector Credits Rewards listed in the online checkout or on my Order Confirmation?

Unfortunately Collector Credits rewards are not currently summarized during the online checkout process, and we are working to improve this area of the program. Rest assured that your Collector Credits are being collected and will appear in your account as soon as your order has been shipped.

Will my Collector Credits Rewards ever expire?

No, Collector Credits Rewards will remain active in your account until you choose to redeem them.

How do I become a member of the VIP?

Anyone who purchases a minimum of $1,000 worth of eligible products from Canadian Coin, exclusive of taxes or shipping, is eligible for membership in the Vault Insider Program. We will send you a personalized invitation in the month that you qualify for membership, or contact us to let us know and we’ll invite you right away! Complete the attached survey and we’ll process your application.

Can I purchase my membership?

No, membership can only be earned by reaching the minimum purchase level of $1,000.

What are the Membership Levels?

The three levels of the Vault Insider Program and their qualification levels are: Executive Level ($1000 annual minimum spend), Gold Level ($2500 annual minimum spend) and Platinum Level ($5000 annual minimum spend).

What are the differences between the Membership Levels?

Executive Level access means that your regular account login at cdncoin.com will grant you special access to our private Vault Insider Category where you can find all of our newest inventory and member priced products. Many other benefits are available at the Executive Level, including your Welcome Gift and our Vault Insider newsletter. Executive Members receive preferred discounted prices on an annual Charlton Guide as well as free shipping at a lower purchase level. Gold and Platinum Members enjoy all of the same benefits, with even better rates on shipping and access to our most exclusive products. Can my Canadian PMX purchases count towards my membership?

No, the Vault Insider Program is designed for our coin and banknote collectors, so purchases of precious metals do not count towards membership.

Are there any other products that won’t count towards my membership?

Most products available from Canadian Coin will count towards your membership, but there are a few that do not. For a current list of excluded products, see our Terms and Conditions.

What is a Trial Membership?

Trial memberships are offered to select customers who have not yet reached the $1,000 purchase threshold but who are obviously excited about collecting! Contact us if you think that a trial membership might be right for you!

How long does my membership last?

When you qualify for full membership in the Vault Insider Program, your membership will be valid until the end of the following calendar year! That means if you qualify for full membership any time in the year 2015, your membership will be valid until December 31st, 2016! Trial Memberships last only until the end of the enrollment year, unless you reach the minimum purchase level, at which point you will advance to full membership and be qualified until the end of the following year!

What is a Life Membership?

VIP members who achieve Platinum Level are also rewarded with a lifetime membership. This means that even if your annual purchases fall below the minimum purchase requirement, you will still enjoy Executive level member rewards any time you wish to shop with us!

What happens if I’m a Trial member and I don’t meet the minimum purchase requirement?

We hope that a taste of Vault Insider benefits will encourage you to qualify next year, but unfortunately your membership will expire on December 31st if you don’t achieve the minimum purchase amount.

Why do I have to complete an Enrollment Survey?

The Vault Insider Program is about giving you, the collector, better and faster access to new inventory and information that will make your hobby more rewarding and more fun! In order to do that, we ask that you tell us a bit about yourself and what you like to collect so that we can customize what we choose to share with you.

How does Canadian Coin handle my personal information?

Can I be a Collector Credits member and a VIP member?

Absolutely! Collector Credits are a benefit for all of our customers, not just VIPs. Your VIP membership automatically syncs with your Collector Credits account, and from time to time we may offer special Collector Credit promotions to VIP members, so watch for our newsletters!

Am I going to receive a lot of email from Canadian Coin?

No more than you want. We will do our very best to only send you emails about products and promotions that we think you will be interested in. You never know when that certain something will become available, to it pays to stay tuned, but if you don’t want to receive our emails any longer, an unsubscribe link is included in every one.

When will I receive my Welcome Package?

Trial and Executive members will receive a special promo code in the mail with their Membership Card, which can be used to add their free Welcome Package to their next online order. Gold and Platinum Members will receive their welcome package by mail typically within 5 business days of enrollment. All Vault Insider members are welcome to come and visit us in our store to pick up their Welcome Package.

Can I share or transfer my membership?

No, your VIP membership is for your exclusive use and cannot be transferred to a third party.

How can I check on my member status?

Your Vault Insider account summary will be sent to your email address on file on a monthly basis. We will inform you of your current Member Status, your Collector Credit balance and how close you are to achieving your next Vault Insider Member Level!
